and so a passing of a great man. whose heart and soul is in every Apple product. i borrowed frm my fren Clamshell G3.. and slept with it watching a movie on quicktime on my bed. i edited my 1st overseas volunteer work video using imovie on a Powerbook G4. my then girlfriend ( now wife ) shared w me the burden of getting an eMac. i own an iBook 14" when all the rich senior tech bought 12" powerbook G4.. and one by one told me Mac OS is hard to use. i practically own every single ipod n selling them for a top up to buy the next one.. my last ipod was the ipod touch 1st gen.. thats when i fell in love with the iPhone.. oh yeh.. i even own iTunes motorola.. that was a piece of crap.. hionestly.

now presently an imac. an ipad 2. iphone 4. macbook pro .. my wife had turn from zero to a Mac hero at werk.. she knew Mac better than anyone else. we went to Apple Store S.F and got really excited.

When he didnt appear for a keynote.. i hated it so much.. but the fact the product speaks for itself , made my day. i stayed up for keynotes.. i love Jonathan Ive designs.. i teared as much as when Jim Henson passed away when i was a kid.

we went through alot during this past few years. wedding, home, career... and i still cant believe it .. im going to be a Dad. The God's given gift.. we cant await for her arrival to this world.. but at the same time.. super duper nervous! what kinda dad i'll be?! will i be a bill cosby? or will i be a tony danza? or will i be tan ah teck? or will i be... a johnny depp?

guess i hafta be just Me. and raise this family the best i can.. its the purpose why my my wife is having my name and the family name is Heratnor's family... but my wife is the best that any man could have been married too.. for the pass 7 yrs.. we said " i love you" everyday ... kiss and hugs everyday.. and never got sick of it.. i never think of it.. i just kinda just do it.. and went we have " heated arguments" we try to chill fast.. reflect and go to bed.. happy..

i hope i haf the same effect on her.. i love my wife.. no words can describe it.. everything i do i think of her.

just sold my beloved 30d.. and hopefully my 18-200 next week in total i shud have a bout 800... all for this cam.. 60d.. i can wait till it drops like till 800.. but we're going HK with our future baby in jerine tummy.. and i wan to capture the moment the best i can.. i dun wanna carry 2 equipment like i did in US..

i can use the camera for baby too after the delivery.. for video and photo.. haiz.. 1.6k.. is very steep but insyaallah.. with my niat for using it for the family.. it will come true.. Amin.

alhamdullilah, our detailed scan shows its a healthy baby girl of 395grams as of now :) im gonnabe a father in abt 5 mth time!!

Jerine is gonnabe a great mum! always loving and smiling regardless of situation! making e best of her world. im a blessed man.

I slept at 5am.. House was e usual morninh tranquil but as soon as i hop into bed u not there. so i hug ya pillow and went to sleep... after a sahur of instant noodles.

Woke up and planned my day. Ill get the doorway seatee just as i promised ill do.. But i hafta get contact lenses. So i went to the usual Teck Whye shop and grab a box of 5.25 dailies. The sun was beautiful.. pop in my lens and put on my froggies, e sun was too beautiful to let e window up while driving.
To Ikea we go. Grab e seatee and head home.. All i can thinknof while installng e seatee was sentosa you and the sun.
So after all set up. I head to the beach! I fell down and bruised myself.. but the day was good. The beach was good. The bruises was good. I hope u had a great day just as much as i did.. With you and baby in my heart.

other guys play soccer or jog or do other sports that they still be doing or watch, till they're old.. for me ive switch from skateboarding to wakeboard.. mountain biking, mountain trekking, rock climbing, rugby.. bla bla bla bla.. but .. it came back in full swing.. back to my roots... Skateboarding.. but being 32 and feeling the physical breakdowns slowly.. i still need to sweat it out without getting hurt that much i guess.. so i bought a manhattan 27 cruiser.. sweet lil thing .. its fun.. :) and been cruising ard on it . and i love it to bits. not as much as i love my wife though.. i though getting a bigger cruise for the stability though.. but i hate the size.. we'll see how..

changed the layout to this almost 5 yr old blog.. its actually longer.. if i didnt bring it down a few yrs ago.. its sic to read my past posts and see how i grew or never grew !

im scared of getting older... but with my wife ard, her love and laughter and support.. its just lighten the thought. i wanna grow old with her. built a family. i wish there are no worries and complicated plannings.. but somethings just cant be avoided.

Gratitude and Love for Life is where i am at now. Fasting mth coming.. and somehow im looking forward to it. My 1st Ramadhan and Syawal as a Husband to my Wife, Jerine Akeia.

somethings wun go ya way as much as u want it to be but u tried.. " nothing is constant but changes" ..

Life is indeed wonderful if u look at it from another way.. like how as a kid i like to sit my leg up and my head down and look at things upside down. oh yes the blood rushes to ya head faster.. but its fun-ner and interesting.

as you grew older.. i reflect more on my childhood. picking up what went right instead of wrongs.. so i can pass it down. why pick the wrongs and be angry at it when things dun go that way?! like how a dad wants his child to go uni and be a dr.. when he cant. why ?

why cant the dad show his child the beautiful things in life.. so he could grew up positively and happier? simple things like sitting together for meals, walk in the park, hugging and kissing innocently..

i remembered how my dad taught me how to eat my prata..how he like to wake up early in the morning and do housewerk.. how my mum would crack jokes and tell me how the world it is according to her..

this post is pretty random .. but being a husband is an experience.. alot of patient and reflection. i love my wife alot and her love make me stronger.

FPS is coming to reality. thanks to Juliah and Dian. i let my heart decides most of the time and its right most of the time. thank God.

im not sure if i wanna skateboard again. but again.. its a part of my life. i spen dmy primary school days till after i ord.. on the board. i skated when all my fresn quit. it gives me a sense of freedom. to think.. and keep me alive. but with this knee injury and now the recovery is kinda slow.. im rehtinking my option.. cause Mak say " slow down .. i kno wu like to skateboard.. but dun u wanna run and play ard with ya child nxt time? " .. im a sucker for parents advice.. be it mak.. pak or ma's.. My lovely wife has been very supportive of me .. i gave my self a yr to stay off the board.. and just cycling will do. its a sad fact.. that i might not skateboard anymore... but one day. .i just wanna roll. and drop into that bowl .. and just feel the wind on my face ( since i dun haf hair )

here are some forum postings and articles that kept me going every night as i read them through and through.. gonna go back work in 11 days time.. gonna miss sleeping every night.. watching my wife sleeps soundly. knowing she had al ong day. i wish that i can be a good husband.. but i think im pretty hard on her on things. i lve her madly still.. and i love our home. ok here's the articles.. i will read this again like 3 or 4 yrs down the road.. with a sigh. or a smile.

" tore my ACL and medial and lateral meniscus back in late January, 10 minutes into a pick up volleyball game. 38 year old former athlete, about 60 pounds overweight. My ortho used patellar graft, which I think is the strongest option (at least according to my research and from speaking with various docs about the procedure). Had the surgery in March...was freaked out about going under, but the 3 hour surgery went fine. I met an anesthesiologist who strongly suggested I get a nerve block for the surgery, which I did. After surgery pain was ok, but the nerve block took several days to wear off...and when it did I was climbing the walls.
My post-op pain meds were: Prescription Ibuprofin and Hydrocodone. WARNING ABOUT HYDROCODONE: Drink plenty of water and consider a stool softener, as it can really - REALLY - make going to the john nearly impossible (sorry, but I'm just being honest!)
First 10 days were a blur....couldn't sleep for more than 30 minutes or so at a time. The immobilizing brace made sleeping tough, too. Lots of swelling from my mid-thigh down to my ankle...bruising all over my leg, down to my toes, but this went away pretty quick. Staples were in my knee, where the patellar tendon was harvested, for about 10 days. Sweet relief - and a shower - after they were removed. Took the pain meds faithfully for the first 10 days, or so, but stopped the Hydrocodone, which made the pain a bit better but made me feel strange.
Physical therapy was a blessing. I literally couldn't lift my leg for about a week or two after surgery. (Note: I did not use one of the post-op motion devices, my doctor advises against them, but I know others who have). But, slowly the quad started to fire and things progressed pretty well from there. Some pain, but generally, the PT sessions felt good, as I quickly gained range of motion (though in stages). The worst part was when they put me on my stomach and manually forced my knee to bend - it was tough, but not ridiculous.
PT involved a series of exercises, like heel slides, leg raises laying down, mini-squats using an exercise ball against the wall, calf raises, and so on. Pretty standard. The BEST part of PT was definitely the deep tissue massage of the knee, quad, and hamstring.
I'm three months out now, but can only lightly jog, and for no more than 10 minutes. At therapy I did some ladder agility exercises, too, which was cool. Walking is ok, but still gets a little sore, with a limp, at times. I had terrible IT band soreness, but PT worked most of it out, over several weeks. Also, the area behind my knee was sore, but got better. One piece of advice - as soon as your incision is healed you might try hot baths. This seemed to really help with my soft tissue soreness and loosened things up pretty well. I'd take a 20 minute hot soak every night, then use the ice machine to cool the knee.
At this point, 3 months out, my knee bends pretty well, to about 133 degrees, I think, but I can't fully straighten it (I'm awfully close though). There is general soreness around and underneath the kneecap, and the IT, but it's not bad. Overall, the knee just feels sore, and it gets really stiff if I've been, say, in the car for 30 minutes. But, it loosens up pretty quick.

My advice:

Follow PT as closely as possible

Consider taking a week or two off after you "graduate" from your PT period (pre-stepdown)

Continue homecare faithfully

Don't overdo it - it takes a long time. I'm at a point where I want to go for a run or chase my kids around the yard, but I'm just not there yet. My doctor says I'm having a "textbook" recovery, so I think things are going quite well, but my physical therapist keeps telling me 1 year is the key benchmark. So, I have to keep reminding myself to slow down and let my body heal.

Gonna miss this life. Eating well and sleeping well. i want a normal
life after almost 6 yrs of shift werk. But wat can i do.. need a job
that pays me at least 2k a mth.. i want photography and Arts to be a
huge part of my life. im glad my wife loves Art.

Art to me is e essence of life. Everything ard me i see how Art
dictates.

Maths is an artform , so is engineering. But its not as emotional and
sensitive.. Art doesnt have a formula. U can only be better. Better at
expressing yourself..

The world ard me is full sadness and unhappiness. Stress And Complain
rules e day. I try not to trap myself in this world but at times it
pulls me back in. Reading papers make me sad. watching tv dictates my
thoughts. But the consistence make me sane.

Being alone in my own home is as to Empire of the Sun. Discovering the
unknown side of you. Its the same word, Home. But a different place. W
a different person. W a different duty. Different food. Different
drink. But its Home.

Doing housewerk put me in a Memory Relapse. where from " why do i have
to do this?!!" teen angst situation to " i have to do this" relevant
adult world. i went from doing my own housewerk to " there's a maid
for everything" and now back to " i have to do it or the house will
not be a Home" .. All within 6 yrs of knowing my Beloved.

Now. Im feeling my creative and sporty side emerging back..without
restrictions. Post working adult days. marriage .. Fir now.. Is
discovering the balance of where our life stood, carving our own
culture and traditions. re enacting what knowledge we haf from past
marriages and reforming our own pages. Its exciting. Nerve wrecking.

Im listening to sound of our furniture cracking wood, my knees
fatique..marvel at my wife's stillness while she sleeps and her
snores. looking at the ceiling.. The wall that bled before.

im home in Our Home. where i Pray no sadness nor tears of pain will
drop and even so itll be of compassion. where this castle is build of
Love, Laughter, Education of mind and soul.. Heart is the King, Mind
is the Queen.

I can't sleep so I'm blogging.. Thinking whether being away from my
Wife is a good idea. I miss her alot. I've never thought in my
lifetime that I'll get married and have a house and a car. The only
think that I wanna do is werk get money, skate, play music and get
married at 30 to some hippy girl, who also take photos.. rent a house
and have make love everyday! That was like pre-NS.. but as time goes
by.. I guess I'm blessed with great family and friends looking out for
me and keeping me straight. I'm like a runaway train at times but i
got good tracks to keep me going good I guess.

I miss my wife. She's a great women and I love her alot. this knee got
busted for a reason amongst other things that happened in my
life.maybe He set this train set to stop running and go slow.. and
take the scenic route. cause more shit gonna come, maybe He got things
lined up for me.. Good or Bad, Happy or Sad.. I dunno.. Just
something. Seeing her working so hard day and night weeps my heart...
But we both knows, that's how it goes.

Mum worried abt my job. I tell her watever happened happens... All I
know I'm not going offce hr.

I question life when I was a fail O level teenager. I'll sit on my
board after a days skate w frens, under e void deck.. Look at the cars
and hills and ask if all this is real. The trees the air we breath the
blood on my fresh scabs.. and I wanted to share this thoughts but I
could only draw..

I've shared it with my wife and now in this blog of five years old. I
tried drawing again and writing poetry but o can't anymore.. It's sad
really.

All I wanna do now is think of the home we're building and get busy..
If ya know wat I mean.. :)

before i set out for china in 2002, i told my 2nd brother that i wanted to cycle from singapore to desaru and then slowly to malacca and then kl.. he said i was crazy. and my mum said " u and ya silly ideas.. " i did all the research and i didnt ask anyone for assistance.. i set up my bike .. plan wat i wanna bring.. then.. xinlu hainan came and gave me a better deal. :)

thank god i didnt turn it down. cause i met my lovely wife, Jerine Akeia, in xinlu hainan.

but it always been a dream of mine to set out and see the world on a bike or a longboard.. and this guy had beaten me to it! if i could do this and prove to ppl that my left knee is the best knee i ever had. and to raise fund for FPS and project X.. then maybe one day.. i hafta get a board first...

hope god is on my side for this one and the ppl i love will make my dream come thru.. running marathon sounds boring now.
but i still wanna do that.

So I'm married with my best friend, feeling luckily blessed cause
she's lovely, pretty and smart, full of compassion. A home coming my
way... with a car..

And I'm thinking.. We do everyone need to slog for all this?! why
can't we be normal and even amongst us? Like the old times, only w
better technology?!

we are still under e contol of old school leaders and " diplomats" ..
ok shake their hands for guiding us safe and sound into another decade
but c'mon.. it's time that ppl have e real say, not regulated, but
voices out opinions and not get glued after!

Thank god that like 80 % of my frens are finally into facebook! but 90
percent are still stalkers "shhhhh... Careful wat photos and status u
post k" " make another acct for " I-want-to-be-really-be-myself"
situations.. sheesh.

Tired of all this crap. but thank god for me, I got me wife and me

The night proved to be an easy one. Kinda stop worrying what lies
ahead for my day to day scope. I learnt to take it one step at a time.
With so many things that I wanna do.. it's amazing how much a mind can
push a physical body. I suffered many burnt outs and I hope to prepare
for more. it's a wacked feeling that u feel trapped in one situation
when u are running another at the same time. I treat life as it is. I
can't wait for the New Beginning. I wanna share my life with a love
one. I Do'a that God may guide us and give us strength for what he's

Went ard town with Farhana.. she kept talking and talking.. she's like

I can't sleep. Watched one movie. A few skate videos and read Jason
Mraz blog inside out. Send an email to Go Sports Skate saying I'm
interested in photographing for them.

As the days goes by an I feel myself getting old.. I'll remember a

just had an accident at work. pretty dumb.. but i laughed my head off at my clumsiness.. only to realize the pain after at the hospital. blood from my head is noting new to me cause i have seen open cut wound on the rugby field and they still play on!

oh well.. i think work is work. maybe i am hardy due to my rugged choice of sports. :P i have to be faintly and dizzy like .. at the workplac.e. which is so not me.. cause in the rugby field or in the streets where i skated.. i would suck it up and move on..

It was our first Basic Islamic class together.. I was very very nervous, I never attended a proper religious class before except in secondary school which I play truant often. I often get caned with this super deceivingly innocent looking thin rotan by my Ustazah during my muqaddam reading classes. I never did qatam my muqaddam.

I was more nervous cause I as raised on the traditions of e religion I guess. He showed me alot of light and love thru my path, and having Jerine as my wife is enhancing the experience itself.

U was glad that Faisal Fernandez, our tutor was open and share the same opinions on my understanding of Islam. A simple loving religion. I think I'm ok with my iman and hafta work harder with my aman.

Gotta throw my social drinking habit soon. Jerine doesn't drink.

I'm putting right things into my body again like I Did in 2000-2003ish. I ate mostly vege and I consume rice like 2x a week. Carried a bag of nuts and cereal w me. I feel lighter and agile. I like it natural and I dun take supplement or hit the gym. I ran in bukit timah and stop at times to hear the forest tranquility.

I miss those times but I'm bringing it back I hope. with work studies and future planning it not really easy. And volunteering and w the thought of FPS.. I get burnt out pretty easily nowadays..

Well I'm doing wat I love and can't wait for our home together.. Insyaallah.

it was her day! i like it when she is all happy and cute. and her little dress is a real killer :P yum yum! was gonna have a pixnix. or some kind of beach thing going on.. but.. the meeting with WTO was too good to depart and make the food for her. all i manage was get a little sumting and a crumpler sinking barge for her. which i suprised it to her at her place after the dinner and walk . :)

i was only in primary 4 or 6? i cant remember... but i got a bright yellow urethane skateboard... i would play it and bring it ard the neighbourhood. this was after my BMX craze.. i got a plastic blue helmet for my bmx ( dad bought for me the helmet.. from the nearby wet marker with dark visors and all ) anyway.. and then i realized i'm not the only one cause a fren of mine have the exact red one!

anyway, i found a skateboard in the dumpster.. with yellow wheels. i didnt know what was that.. all i know it look bigger then my previous skateboard.. so i took it home. i watched a couple of people jumping with the skateboards.. and i want to learn how to. so i took off the wheels of that skate board and practice ollieing on it with a carpet underneath and a couple of pillows ( sorry mum ) i had fun... i cant go down and play on my own caus ei just moved and bukit panjang was stlill bloody ulu.. without BKE.

i began to dress funny. i began to like caps and hats. cause they look cool. and i wore shirts with pants and taped up hiking boots. it was a hitec hiking boot.. i skated on it under my void deck. on my .. 16 or 15 bday... i cant recall.. my mum bought me a checkered jimmy'z baggy 3/4... i love it so much i wore every single day!!!! jimmy'z l cool cause they have this surfer van for their logos. i would drew it in my sketch books...

one day i skated under my void deck.. saw 2 guys skateboarding.. met up and say HI! They were Hisham and Khalid.... we skated everyday!!! morning till night... we will skate Bukit panjang looking for spots.. one day we saw... a Pro.. his name is Wan... wan Muska as we later call him..

skateboarding is my Life. i suck at it..

Sitting on the ramp at 3am at queenstown mini skatepark ... i am still loving it. i pondered on how ppl dun know how brands such as Vans, eS, etnies, hookups, airwalk all come ard.. they wore it like.... they own it. these labels are there cause ... there's some Big Dreamer Skateboarder wants it and most prob that fella is a skateboarder .. scrapping his knees and toring his ligaments.. doing tricks..

3 things save my life from being a gangster with AST.. i knew a couple and knewing them than be them was all that i wanted to be. i still drink and smoke.. and vulgarities still hurling like a fastball.. but my Love always there to remind me that Life is simple and she is the reason why i am progressing ..

oh yah.. them 3 things.

Skateboarding, Hardcore, volunteerism.... all of which lead me to one thing.. photography. i regretted losing all the photos that i took when i was skateboarding. i regretted hating photographers shuving their lenses at my face when i was playing with recover. and i treasure my volunteering pix. pix of friends and great people.. of whom one... i will marry.. and will scramble thru this life together.. with bruises and tikkles and grumbling laughters.

always tell myself keep it real and be myself always.. in whatever shape i am in. my spirit and love will always be the same.

HE gave great Tough Love for me all this time. i hated it. but more will come.

sorry if i am temperamental at times cause i am tring to keep it real and moving forward. Stomping Ground was on TV... its like watching Metallica getting the grammys.

My grammy was when i bought our flat, when i ollied over that curb in my jimmy'z and when my dad bought me that blue bmx bike. nothing much.

so here's one from H street.. of logos i have much decorated in my school tecxtbook and my old black converse shoes that i painted white so i can draw h street logo on it. and my blue vans off the wall that i bought at Kmart for 19.90 i think, i always love vans cause its always on sale. but stop buying after figuring out how sell out they are. but they're are still on sale for the kids :)

oh and that huge skateboard twith yellow wheels that i got off the dumpster... was a Natas Kaupas Aeroplane with the black panther ... awesome. i want it back. i threw it away crying..

it was fun putting a flower in ya hair.. and the morning or rather NOON swim was refreshing! i wanna swim again regularly.. like.. when i am frree.. isnt that regularly.

i love my job. cause of the colleagues i have.. the politics stinks but the people are great. so i am like.. go fuck everything else. and have fun and have a good positive happy vibes..

in this money driven society, where ya status quo is a concern for most people. i frown on that shit.

i miss the times when i skated and no one judge but respect everyone style. i miss the time when we played shelter and laugh our brains out. i miss the times when i got my wind blew out of my lungs after a hard tackle in the field but was grab and picked up by the collar by a fellow player and carried on. i miss the time when a fren will borrow him ya phone when ya prepaid card is down. i miss them times when the band chipped in to pay for ya jamming session when they know u had it rough. i miss those times when a drive out to seletar reservoir late at night and chilling out with a guitar was a routine. i miss the long meet up at lau pa sat even though we all knew that lau pa sat is so overly hung ald ..

good morning!
am at a internet cafe. its pretty cheap for the internet connection is only like 3000 IDR per hour, thats 40 cents!

i don't feel good. a bad throat, runny nose and i get tired easily. have been drinking lotsa water, bu thte food here is always hot and spicy and its great! photographing here is good but i think with all the equipment i brought i am still not a very good photographer. i found my niche in film cause film camera have characteristic that i love, digital camera is like a souless being that u have yto contro l everything. digital is bimbo, film is artsy i guess.. so end of the day its all come back to me.
the weather here is hot and a bit humid. but i'm not bothered by that. OH! kai yang gonna replaced my tripod that he left in the aircraft. its nothing serious actually but i hated the part that a lot of ppl have to help us and trouble themself just to get the damn thing!! and on a Sunday!
i love the peleng lens!!! fisheye galore! the 2 other lenses just work with me. nothing much.
i miss dear ald. how can i leave her at the start of her holiday and got back after she ended it. and i feel bad for not spending time with her.

we have our flat.

we have our ROMM and wedding plans date.

all she need now is a ring. as a show of our ever blooming love to each other.

so i decide to slip the ring with the help of her close frens, Rosslyn, Ming Wai, WanQi, Daniel and my 2 lomotion frens Nic and DJ

it was simple and beauiful. all had a long day.

the sincere gift of our Love to the joy of our friends' friendship is it self as valuable as the ring itself.

Our New Journey starts here. at the same place that we sat and talk abt life and future plans 5 yrs ago.

Thanks to Bendok " Norizan" back in 1999, i dabbled in technology's Bastard Child, the Apple iBook, was in a lovely orange colour, OS 9 was sweet, 6gb of HD ( if i remember correctly) . quicktime was sweet. iTunes was raw but delicious. i fell in love.
she borrowed it to me for a week to play ard with it, knowing my thirst for gadgetries. i decide then. i will be a mac person if i got the money.

early 2003, after coming back from a life changing Xinlu trip. Asmah invited me to edit with her our xinlu group videos.. on her powerbook G4! i was in ecstacy.. it was so beautiful, it made me wanting to edit stuff more and more! thanks duckie!

then i got a job as a trainee aircraft tech. i will be bonded for a couple of years. and so i went to comex, bought my first mac. eMac 1.25 ghz. that was in 2004. and 5 yrs down the line.. i am still typing on my eMac which i lovingly named her MacDelene, with the help of jerine of course ;) it is still a joy to use it.. only once the logic board burnt and i got it change for free. ONCE in 5 yrs it broke down and never failed me in many project and things i do daily. its hooked up to a 320 gb HD now.. and thats it!

i got myself an ibook 14" and now using the first ever intel Macbook pro. i purchased a forth gen iPod ( b n w of course ) , iPod Photo ( of which i have re-bought a ipod photo 60gb for jazzie daily usage), fith gen ipod video, 2 gens of iPod minis and i am not stopping it there. so Steve...

Happy 25th Anniversary for Apple! " Think Different " will always be my life motto in many ways :) just as Apple had done it with iPod, iPhones and the whole Mac products. from an underdog, it is now one of the leaders of innovations..Hope ya health gonna be good and keep 'em coming!!
